Chesapeake Invite September 14th

Well after two days prepping the course by grass cutting and working on the wooded path trail on

the course and painting the arrows and the starters boxes, Chesapeake was ready for the 8th 

annual invitational at the school. Here's some fun facts, we only had 2 XXL Invite t-shirts left over,

we furnished 720 bottles of water to the athletes and 1000 freezie pops (these products were donated)

had 20 schools participate in the race. But our athletes did awesome here's some true facts. Top 25

runners earned a medal.

 Girls Varsity A: Lexi Vosburg placed 7th out of 120 registered runners

                       Aubrey VanSickle, Emily Bryant, Mariah Danzer, Eden Githens, better their times 

                       from last year.

Boys Varsity A :   Aidan Petraglia  placed 24th out of 172 registered runners

                         James Ponce, Roman Flanagan, Thomas Stompfoll, Eric Permisohn, Alex McCreery

                         Kolten Tenney, Logan Kendall better their times from last year.

Girls Varsity B:  Hailee Stallings placed 20th out of 112 registered runners and Amelia Smith

                            placed 21st. Kayla Barnsley-Kingsley, Lillian Hoskins, and Arianna Haskell

                            better their times from last year.

Boys Varsity B:  Jason Chase placed 23rd out of 200 registered runners. Micah Newson,

                            Chase Cage, Davin Inglis, Asher Ozinga,and Melvin Gill better their times

                            from last year's invite.

Well the team was fortunate to participate in the event with favorable weather and course conditions. What a great way to start off our season.  The boys Varsity A finished 14th out of 31 schools The Varsity B boys finished 5th out of 24 schools. The girls Varsity A finished 11th out of 22 schools, and Varsity B girls finished 9th out of 16 schools. We had 4 Varsity A boy runners set personal best and will have their names placed on the Chesapeake records board at Chesapeake.\

Congratulations to James Ponce, Roman Flanagan, Thomas Stumpfoll and Aidan Petraglia. Big recognition goes out to Lexi Vosburg who finished 14th overall out of 192 runners in the Varsity A girls race. Also now has the second fastest time for the 3 mile at Chesapeake. Lexi's time was 19:36.93 the school record is 19:36.30.  Also shout out to our Varsity B boy runners, both freshman, Jacob Butcher who  placed 6th and Joseph Prola who placed 7th out of 392 runners.

Sunday, August 25th:  Our volunteers arrived at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 6:00 am or earlier to help set up the finish line for the race. The race event organizers were very impressed on how well the team helped hand out water bottles, wet towels, render help at the first aid station with the medical staff and also at the awards table handing out medals, and last but least at the snack tables handing out ice cream to the finishers. Huge shout out to the team and the parents for an awesome job well done.

Meet The Coaches Night

All members of the Cross Country team are to assemble, Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00 pm. We will meet at the auditorium. A Lot of information will be disseminated by the Athletic Department and the School Administration. Also it's an opportunity for the parents to meet the coaches too. It is mandatory to attend. I know situations arise, please try to be there.
