| Severna Park took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd on a walk PB, groundout and a PB. Chesapeake scored 2 runs in the 3rd on 4 straight hits, one an RBI single by Ashley Smeltz and a RBI double by Brionna Bowman. CHS scored their 3rd run in the top of the fourth via 3 straight 2-out hits which scored Emily DeAngelis on an RBI single by Haley Downin. Severna Park's Haley Simonds held the Cougars in check the rest of the way as she recorded the win and had 9 strikeouts. Severna Park scored a run in the 4th and 6th innings as Manning led both innings off with a double to tie the score. In the 8th Chesapeake has runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs but was unable to score and Severna Park scored in international tiebreaker on a PB and error to seal the win. |
