| Chesapeake took an early 5-0 lead after two innings on 7 hits; two each from Haley Downin and Ashley Smeltz with 2-RBI by Danielle Stewart. Arundel responded in the top of the third to cut the lead to 5-3 on a double by M. Miller, a single by C. Mills, and a long three-run home run by M. Meehan. Chesapeake scored two in the bottom of the fifth on a single by Summer Smith and a two-run home run by Senior Toni Braun to increase the lead to 7-3. Arundel battled back to score two in the top of the sixth on an error, double by M. Morseman and a 2-run single by S. Jerman. Arundel kept the pressure on in the 7th and got the first two batters on base but Chesapeake worked its way out of the inning without allowing any runs to score. |
