| Chesapeake's freshman pitcher Haley Downin pitched a complete game 2-hitter with 7 strikeouts. She also scored a run and had an RBI single. Senior Hunter Royston had a triple and scored on a wild pitch in the first inning to give Chesapeake an early 1-0 lead. Solid pitching and defense held until Chesapeake scratched out 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth on a walk, couple of stolen bases, a single and two groundouts. Marriotts Ridge's sophomore pitcher Mikayla Barnard threw a 2-hitter with 9 strikeouts. Their two hits were singles by Jordyn Stepke and K. Knott. |
