Chesapeake varsity softball ran into an very tough Urbana team on Saturday night. Urbana defeated Chesapeake 5-3 to capture the 4A State Championship. Although Chesapeake matched the hitting of Urbana we could not match thier run production as they ran to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a fine offensive effort. Chesapeake tried to claw back into the game but could not get enough runs to break through on Urbana's junior pitcher.
The coaching staff would like to thank all of the players for thier effort this season and to the fans who attended the games this season especially those that traveled to U of MD. While we came up short on our goal of an 8th state title, we did finish the season with 23 wins and 1 loss.
