REGIONAL FINALS - GLEN BURNIE: 0
| Chesapeake defeated Glen Burnie 5-0 to win the 4A East Regional behind a solid team effort as six different batters had hits led by a 2 RBI single by senior Megan Hyson in the 3rd inning. Hyson pitched the complete game shutout allowing 3 hits, no walks and eight strikeouts. During one stretch she recorded 14 straight outs to keep Glen Burnie in check. Chesapeake scored 3 runs in the 5th inning on a couple of hits mixed in with a couple of Glen Burnie errors allowed the score to become 5-0. However, Glen Burnie mounted a threat in the seventh inning as they put two runners on with two outs but Hyson struck out the last batter to seal the victory for Chesapeake. Chesapeake will play Montgomery Blair in the State Semi-Finals on Tuesday evening 7pm at Bachman Park. |
