REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS - SEVERNA PARK: 1
Chesapeake defeated Severna Park 3-1 behind the pitching of Senior Megan Hyson who threw a 3-hitter with 13 strikeouts. Chesapeake scored two runs in the first inning on an infield throwing error and a sacrifice fly by freshmen Danielle Myers. Severna Park scored their run in the third inning as a result of a leadoff double by Casey Beck, a sacrifice bunt by Claire Hanratty and a wild pitch to make the score 2-1. Chesapeake would score their final run in the third inning on a single by junior Kim Federowicz and a 2-out double by senior Gabby Couture. The final four innings were dominated by the pitchers; Megan Hyson for Chesapeake and Clare Hofstedt for Severna Park who retired the final 10 Chesapeake hitter in a row. Chesapeake will host Glen Burnie at 10am on Saturday in the 4A East Region Final.
