DISTRICT V CHAMPIONSHIP (HOWARD): 0
Chesapeake won the District V championship 3-0 against a very good Howard team. Chesapeake's senior pitcher Megan Hyson pitched the complete game shutout while allowing 2 hits to Howards senior catcher Kaci Frick. Hyson recorded 15 strikeouts while improving her record to 18-0. Chesapeake scored single runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings on clutch hitting by Jr Kim Federowicz and Sr. Megan Hyson. Sophomore Olivia Ravadge scored two runs for Chesapeake. Both Chesapeake and Howard will host regional play on Monday as they await the winner of games played later this week.
