Chesapeake scored the winning run with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning on a RBI double off the top of the center field fence by Sr. Megan Hyson that scored Fr. Emily Kirby. Chesapeake's Sr. Megan Hyson battled Glen Burnie's Alexa Moos in a well played game by both teams. Home runs were the early theme as Chesapeake had a 1st inning HR from Jr. Kim Federowicz and a HR by Olivia Ravadge in the 3rd inning. Sr. 3rd basemen Kayla Schmidt hit a solo home run for Glen Burnie to lead off the 2nd inning. Neither team could score in the 4th or 5th innings but Glen Burnie tied the game in the sixth inning at 2 on an RBI single by So. Kaitlyn Kirby who scored Sr. Shelby Smith. Chesapeake led off the seventh inning with a single by Fr. Emily Kirby and followed it with a single by Jr. Kim Federowicz which put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Sr. Megan Hyson came to the plate and drove the game-winning hit off the top of the outfield fence for an RBI double. Chesapeake plays Glen Burnie again on Friday.
