Sr. Megan Hyson pitched a complete game 3-hitter and recorded 12 strikeouts. Sr. Gabby Couture drove in 2 runs with a single in the sixth inning to put Chesapeake up 2-1. Megan Hyson drove in an insurance run in the top of the seventh to seal the victory for Chesapeake. MDS was led by their pitcher A. Lewenski who held Chesapeake in check until the sixth inning. She finished with 9 strikeouts and a 5-hitter. She also scored MDS only run on double hit by J. Jurney. It was a very competitive game as the season opened for both teams.
